Colorful city night

It depicts a street scene in a bustling city, with skyscrapers rising from the ground and neon lights flashing in the night sky. The crowds of people are surging, the traffic is flowing continuously, and the neon billboards project colorful lights. The glass curtain walls of high-rise buildings reflect the hustle and bustle of the city, and the brightly lit shops on both sides of the streets create a vibrant urban night atmosphere.

WEAVING TRADITION INTO HCCH STUDIO’S DYNAMIC INSTALLATION HCCH Studio (read more here) opted for a space-saving approach and proposed a suspended installation above the main promenade instead of traditional plaza sculptures or entrance arches. The design consists of two gracefully curved double spirals of rings that glow in the dark. These helixes form an X-shaped steel frame suspended from steel cables attached to the gable walls. The continuous curved surface creates a dynamic and ever-changing visual perspective that enhances the experience from different directions and at different levels within the neighborhood. The connection of the rings to the main structure is inspired by traditional weaving patterns that were often used by the previous generation to make tote bags. The rings are flexibly connected to each other by the usually 5 cm wide woven bands, and their position is fixed by a sewing detail at the intersection of the bands. All weaving and threading work is carried out by hand on site. The continuously curved surfaces, the green and orange woven ribbons, and the enlarged handmade nodes contrast with the narrow alleys, gray bricks, and red tiles. At night, the people walking under the spirals of light encounter a captivating retro city scene.

Step back into the neon-soaked streets of the 80s with \"Retro Chronicles,\" a mesmerizing underground musical odyssey encapsulated in a vinyl masterpiece. The album cover transports you to an era where vibrant hues collided with gritty urban landscapes, capturing the essence of rebellious creativity. At the forefront stands a rebellious figure, clad in eclectic 80s fashion, sporting a leather jacket adorned with rebellious patches and badges. A pair of acid-washed jeans and high-top sneakers complete the ensemble. The character exudes an air of nonconformity, mirroring the spirit of the underground scene. The backdrop is a kaleidoscope of visual stimuli. Graffiti-covered brick walls, flickering neon lights, and the dim glow of an alleyway transport you to the heart of a retro metropolis. The skyline is dominated by iconic silhouettes of 80s architecture, reminiscent of a time when bold structures defined cityscapes. The foreground is a canvas of symbols and references from the 80s and early 90s. Boomboxes, arcade cabinets, and cassette tapes are scattered like artifacts from a bygone era. A strategically placed Rubik's Cube hints at the puzzle-like nature of the eclectic sounds contained within the record. The color palette is an homage to the vibrant aesthetic of the era. Electric blues, hot pinks, and neon greens clash and harmonize, creating a visual symphony that mirrors the sonic diversity within the album. Glowing lines reminiscent of Tron and geometric shapes evoke a sense of digital futurism, a nod to the evolving technology of the time. The typography embraces the bold, exaggerated fonts that defined graphic design in the 80s. The album title, \"Retro Chronicles,\" is emblazoned across the top in dynamic, neon-lit letters, radiating energy and attitude. \"Retro Chronicles\" is not just an album; it's a visual time capsule, a portal to the rebellious spirit of the 80s underground scene, where music, fashion, and art collided to create an unforgettable cultural moment.
